What We Cover
Leeds Environmental specialist consultants provide professional technical advice and support on many aspects of fire management. We can assist in preventing the spread of fire, optimising your current fire systems, and ultimately securing the safety of your people and property.
UK Fire Regulations make you, the employer, responsible for fire safety within your business. You have a legal requirement to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment that looks at reducing and removing the risk of fire. This should be documented if you employ five or more people. As a nationwide fire consultancy, Leeds Environmental can provide comprehensive Fire Risk Assessment services for single and multi‑site organisations.

PAS 79 Methodology
First published in 2005 and revised in 2007, PAS 79 sets out a methodology for undertaking a fire risk assessment. PAS 79 is specifically aimed at ensuring that all necessary information relating to the fire risk assessment and its findings is recorded. The need to carry out a fire risk assessment and to document the significant findings from that assessment is fundamental to current fire law.
Other methodologies may be more appropriate in particular circumstances, including quantitative risk assessment. However, from our experience, PAS 79 can be used for any size of building and for a wide range premises.
The approach underpinning PAS 79 is one of systematic evaluation of the factors that determine the hazard from fire, the likelihood that there will be a fire and the consequences if one were to occur.
PAS 79 applies to:
- Housing Stock
- High Rise Residential
- Offices
- Shops
- Factories
- Restaurants
- Schools
- University Buildings
- Hospitals
- Local Authority / Public Buildings
